My first impression is that this is the work of an artist who does not wear his art on his sleeve. The painting seems to be one of significant contradiction (I appreciate that I may be completely missing the point here) and I like the way that one immediately gets a sense of beauty, however, this is fleeting, as gradually, disintegration is apparent . The sparkling hood is fragmenting, and are those tiny cracks in that porcelain face? There is a sense of unfulfilment : that all that was wanted to be achieved was not achieved by this subject. Or maybe the pinicle of success has been reached and the subject is in the crumbling stages of decline. The artist, on the other hand, is incredibly skilled, and I consider this painting to be highly successful. It is stunnng and tells a story.
The colours make this super intense. I think this is one of your best paintings, and best one of this glitters -series. The glittering pieces really fit and work amazingly well with her expression and against the darkness! Well done
